Managing Multiple Blogs

Minggu, 01 Agustus 2010

http://moddify.com/domains/smartblogtips/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/manage-multiple-blogs.jpg

Blogs have become an important factor of link building. Many SEO experts and bloggers choose to manage multiple blogs and also keep them up to date with quality content. Many bloggers single blogs at a time. With one blog you can maintain both quality and quantity of content. An expert is one who is able to keep up the quality and quantity while managing multiple blogs. While maintaining multiple blogs you should keep in mind that your content should be original, your blogs should be up to date and you should be able to allot time for each blog.

No Plagiarism

Those maintaining single blogs have original content but blogger with multiple related blogs find it difficult to keep their content original. If you have duplicate content in all your blogs then visitors would not be interested in visiting your blogs and they would feel as if you are using copied content. If the traffic suspects plagiarism they would not come back to your blog. It may also happen that you wish to steal content from a space that is famous and gets a good traffic. You may not copy it but reader or followers of the space would know that your content is not original. If yours is a new blog then you would like to grip your readers and not want them to go away because content is not original.

Fresh content

Bloggers should post frequently and keep their blogs updated. If content not updated then readers stop visiting the blog. You should never let your blog look stagnant or clumsy to your readers. Even a single reader should be considered precious. If your readers do not find updated content then they stop coming to your space. Internet updates are very fast and if your blog is not updated then traffic would not want to stop by to read. Hence, if you wish to hold traffic to your site then you must keep adding fresh content

Time management

If you maintain multiple blogs you may find it difficult to update all your blogs with multiple posts. As a blogger you should be able to manage time and dedicate equal or sufficient time to all your blogs. I say sufficient time because some need more time for maintenance than others. Once you know how much time is required to maintain all your blogs then it becomes simple by just following a schedule.

Therefore in the end I would only suggest you to manage content very delicately. The moment you stop taking care, traffic stops visiting your blog.

10 Reasons Why I Love WordPress

Rabu, 21 Juli 2010

I love to build websites and I love WordPress.

I think I have been using WordPress for around 3 years now; I started my own sites using TypePad and then building TypePad blogs for clients. Which was great to start with and TypePad is a great hosted service but it was very limited.

So after attending an Internet Marketing Conference (it may have been The World Internet Summit) where all the marketers were talking about this open source software called WordPress which is free to use and you can host it yourself, I was converted! So here are some of the reasons I converted and why I love it so much

WordPress Is Free - This blogging platform is used by millions of bloggers, because it's FREE...

Easy To Install - When I first started using it one would download WordPress and then upload the files to ones server, configure them and you were done. Easy right? Well it's got even easier, use a hosting company such as Blue Host you can install WordPress with ONE CLICK! Now that's easy!

Themes - There are alot of sites with FREE themes for WordPress that will make your blog look great. I am using Frugal by Eric Hamm. This theme makes my blog stands from the millions of blog on the web. The Frugal Theme is fully customizable and VERY easy to use. It is a premium theme so it costs money but well worth it in my opinion. Watch the Demo Video Here

WordPress Plugins - WordPress has over 9,052 plugins. These are easy to install by going to the plugins section on your WordPress blog, select Add New and search for the plugin(s) that you want. When I install plug ins for my clients I have a list of 12 that I believe are essential to your blogs welfare!

Pages - WordPress has a feature called "pages" which allows you to easily create web pages. This is what helps turn WordPress into a fantastic CMS (Content Management System). There is no limit to the amount of pages you can add to your site and you can easily manage the navigation of them with a couple of plug ins, My Page Order & Exclude Pages from Navigation

Multiple Authors - Bloggers who likes your blog who are in your niche can make a profile on your blog and become a guest author. They can post articles and you can review it for publishing. This keeps your content fresh and interesting.

Scheduled Publishing - Something that I don't take full advantage of but is a great tool. You can write blog posts in advance say 4 or 5 (it can be more) and then schedule them to go out on specific dates. This is great if you are going away or your writing creativity comes in fits and starts!

Language Translation - Even though I only speak one language, which is English and a tiny bit of French, (Bonjour!) WordPress is available in 50 languages. So everyone can use WordPress in their native language. This can be achieved easily with a plugin

SEO Friendly - Again another plug in sorts this out very easily. The All in One SEO plug in looks after ALL your SEO needs.

Google Loves WordPress - If Google loves WordPress then I love WordPress. With the Google XML Site Map plugin, I get my articles indexed on Google as soon as I publish it. I want my articles to be found by everyone as soon as I write them.

There's just 10, there are 100 other reasons I love WordPress but that'll do for this post. What do you love about WordPress?

Three Quick and Easy Blogging Tips For the Beginning Blogger

If you are a beginning blogger whose aim is to market products through your blog, your challenge is to come up with an attractive blog that will keep readers coming and at the same time create sales for your products. Most of us have tried personal blogging at least once, but you need to keep in mind that marketing through a blog is different from maintaining an online diary. Here are three quick tips to make blogging for sales much easier for a beginning blogger like you.

  1. Stick to your subject. Your readers visit your blog because they want to find information and solutions on a specific subject that is related to the products you are marketing through your blog. While it is tempting to write about how cute your cat is or how fun your date last Saturday was, you should keep off-tangent posts like that to your personal blog and stay on topic with your marketing blog. In this way, you get to keep your readers interested and focused on your product.
  2. Keep your blog posts short and simple. Although it is nice to come up with a 2,000-word essay on a topic related to the subject of your blog, not all of your readers have the time to wade through your essay. They also do not have the time to grab a dictionary or thesaurus to look up the meaning of the highfaluting word you just used. So, keep your language on your blog posts simple. Also, if you did come up with a 2,000-word essay or longer, you can break the essay up into a series of 300-word posts and entice your readers to come back and read the entire series.
  3. Keep your blog fresh and updated. You will build up a base of loyal readers if you post on your blog regularly. This is another reason why you should keep your blog posts short and simple - so the entire task of updating your blog regularly does not have to turn into a tedious chore. Update your blog at least three times weekly to keep it fresh and to keep your readers happy.

Blogging does not have to sound scary or tedious to the beginning blogger. All it takes for you to succeed in blogging is to stick to your subject, keep your posts short and simple, and update your blog regularly.

The Latest Trend is Blogging For Business

Kamis, 01 Juli 2010

http://www.searchenginepeople.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/01/small-business-blogging-map.jpg

The market today is ever increasing and the demand for keeping at par with the top-notch companies is one of the biggest challenges that the businesspersons come across. Merely launching the product and services do not draw customers nowadays. So keeping the pace with technology, most of today's businesspersons have started blogging for business. You have surely heard about websites that promote the company and contain information related to the services and products. On similar lines, the concept of blog has come up, which helps all types of businesspersons to draw the attention of the people in the target market for buying the products or services that they are selling.

Before you start wondering what kind of blogging for business will be good, you should know what a blog is. Not everyone can learn the HTML coding and develop a website. However, they can describe about their product using small articles, news update, company information, pictures, and videos and so on. Blog means using these collated methods to make it look like a small website. It can contain company news, product launches, and information about the eminent faces in the business and also advertisements and marketing related topics. Therefore, your blog will help you to establish your business in this highly competitive international market.

Blogs can be of different kinds but blogging for business will essentially contain the information related to the business including advertisements. A benefit of blog is its sequential order of placing the last updated post on the top. This helps the readers to know the latest update or event that has taken place in your company. The older information or posts automatically move to the archives, which are accessible as well. One of the biggest advantages of blogging is that you need not be technically sound to create a blog. Even though you have to create a blog using different languages like HTML or PHP, the blogger can do without knowing these languages.

Many preset themes and templates are available for the same, which only needs editing while you are using it for your blog. You can even change the themes to give the blog a different look and feel. So basically, while blogging for business, you should be aware of what content you want to put and where. In other words, the content and design is what you need to know. A number of online interfaces like Blogger, Type pad, Word press etc. are available to help the bloggers give their blog the final look. With the content and objective in mind, you need to choose the theme and continue with it.

If you want more options, theme codes are also available on the internet. The hosted blog services also give you the option of choosing your own URL address or using the one, which they provide with the host service's name, included in the URL address. Another good thing about blogging for business is that the reader can express his views and opinions about your blog with the help of comments. This helps the business as well, and you can get the general reaction of the people right below the original post. The control of such comments is also in the hands of the blogger. The reader may need your acceptance prior to posting his comments or he may need to provide some valid email or register before he can express his views.

This enables the readers, employees and customers to bridge the gap and have a better understanding of the business. Blogging is picking up fast and is becoming popular day by day. One of the major reasons for this can also be that blogging is cost effective. Especially if you have a small company, you may not be able to maintain a website giving information regarding your company, as you will require designers, content writers and people with technical know how. Moreover, your website will also need constant updating because stale data is not of much use.

On the contrary, blogging gives a similar interface but in lesser cost as the expertise of a designing team is not required. The process is also simple as coding is not required. Interaction with the employees and customers is very essential for the business to flourish. Blogging for business will give you that platform, which will help you in the initial stage of establishing your business. It will help you to improve the communication with your customers as they can also give their feedback and express their views, which will help you to develop in your business.

Building Your Online Home Business With Blogs!

Minggu, 20 Juni 2010

Having a capture page for your online home business is great at getting people to opt-in if your using some kind of pay per click method. When using pay per click, or banner ads or even paid advertising, all you really need is a simple one page website.

The whole purpose of having a website when using paid ads is to get people there and to quickly opt-in, so you can capture their email address. When people click on your paid ad they are interested in one thing only, and that is what your ad is promoting. You do not have to be well known, or interact with people like you do in Social Media. A single page website will do the trick, then when you get their email address, that is when you can start interacting.

The bad thing about having just a capture page is most likely, you will not get good rankings on Google. Google likes content, fresh content and lots of it, that is where a blog comes in the picture for really building your online home business.

Search Engines Love Blogs

All of the search engines love blogs, especially if your posting regularly. It is real important for your success to post frequently and keep it fresh. The more often you post, the more often the search engine spiders will visit your blog, putting you in the higher rankings of the search engines.

When writing your post, make sure they are of good value to others. People do not care what you had for breakfast, unless of course you are a movie star. Keep your posts relevant to what your online home business is all about. Keep them within your niche.

If your online home business is all about selling sports equipment, then do not write post about lingerie. People want to visit you blog about what your niche is, that is what interests them.

If selling sports equipment, write posts at least 80% that leans towards just that. The other 20% you can talk about how your family went to the football game and all the fun you had. Or how your son or daughter likes certain shoes for the sport they are in. That way when people visit your blog, they will know exactly what they are going to read about, sports!

Keep People Informed

With a blog you can also post the latest discounts you might be offering. This will keep people informed about your business and make you more sales. Just remember to only push your business once in a while, offering good content is still the best for a blog. You can post great places for them to go watch a football game, or maybe a place for them to stay when they get there.

Once your clients find out you have a blog, where they can go and find out new things, you will have a lot of return visitors and comments. Having great comments is another thing that all the search engines like.

Once you start a blog, you have to keep up with it in order to make money and build your online home business. You can not just let it sit dormant and expect it to magically make money for you. You have to constantly keep it updated with fresh new blog posts and stay committed to it.

Another good thing about blogs is you can put your affiliate links in the side column. Say you use Traffic Geyser for uploading and sending out your videos and articles. Putting a link for Traffic Geyser for other people to click on, will give you extra cash flow. When using affiliate links make sure it is something you use yourself also, be honest about how good they are.

Most of all make sure you have your own domain instead of having some blogging company host it for you. This shows more credibility for you and also gives you more power of how you want it to look. I have known of some people that used blogging companies, and one day their blog was just gone, all their posts and hard work, gone!

Remember in today's online world, it is a social media world, so using a blog to build your online home business will rock your business to success!

Tips For Domain Names Registration

Minggu, 02 Mei 2010

Having your own site or blog is now very popular not just for ecommerce but for many other purposes. Self expression through online publishing is just one of the reasons and some of them can go from business to professional to academic purposes. Now, online publishing starts with getting your own URL and you can do this by getting domain names. If you are planning to set up your own site or blog or if you simply wish to reserve some names, then here are some useful and powerful tips and pointers to consider:

1. Make them unique and interesting.

They serve as your virtual address on the Web. It is what people type on the internet to be led to your site or blog. It is therefore important that you choose a name that is unique and interesting. You would want a unique name so people can easily remember it and so that internet users can easily type them when accessing your site. Remember that while your URL can easily be bookmarked for easy search, having an easy-to-remember name still counts.

2. Make them short.

It is also important to choose domain names that are short. Not only are they easier to remember but they are also easy to type. Based from experience, it can be quite unappealing to type in a long URL so the shorter the url, the better it is for both the user and the site owner.

3. Choose a domain that is reflective of the content.

Aside from the length and uniqueness of your domain, it would also be important to carefully choose the words you use for your url. Choosing words that are too general or too common can cause confusion and can make it difficult for you to establish branding and recognition. This is especially important for those who wish to set up sites or blogs for business. You would want your url to be closely related to your site's content or to the type of business you offer.

4. Try to register for other extensions.

When making your registration, it would be a practical move to pay for multiple domains. Registering them are actually very affordable but you can get more savings if you actually register more than one. Aside from bulk registration, it would also be wise to register other extensions (dot net, dot org, dot info, etc.) so that prospective customers can land on your page when they forget to type your dot com address.

5. Opt for reputable and established domain name registration companies.

Of course, it would always be better if you only deal with reputable companies. There are a lot of companies which accept registration for domain names and it can be difficult to choose with the low prices and great packages offered. Now, when you choose an established company, you get more assurance not just of quality and honest service but you can also expect better after-sales service and support.

Writing Tips For Your Website Or Blog

Jumat, 30 April 2010

I recently attended a local Chamber of Commerce after-hours party where one of the discussions turned to Social Media Marketing as a business tool. An interesting point was made that prospects, cross-industry, aren't as open to direct sales calls, but would rather search the Internet for information related to potential purchases for everything from shoes, cars, homes and restaurants - to web hosting.

Do you write content for your website or blog?

It only follows that if prospects (for your products or services) are keying in search queries to find relevant information on the Internet, that you should be there. I guarantee this - your competition WILL be there.

Writer's Block

Don't know what to write about? Select anything you're passionate about. What do you know about your product or service that could be beneficial to the reader? Very often, if you just start jotting down notes throughout the day, some topic will jump off the paper and hit you square in the middle of your forehead. The real key here to just do it. There are NO excuses for NOT writing. All of us lead very busy lives, bombarded with demands on our time and energy.

Providing information relevant to the search query is paramount

First, pick a topic geared to providing information, either how-to or solutions based - the goal being to help / provide insight. Start with a topic in your specific niche, like "Website Design" or "Automotive Repair," then create a title based on emotion, or anything that you think would draw a click through. Some examples would be, "Unlimited space and bandwidth = unlimited risks" or "Increasing the quality of marketing campaigns."

Keep your paragraphs short

I realize you're excited about your stuff, but loooooooooooong paragraphs turn OFF most surfers. Break your content down into specific thoughts or steps, with one paragraph leading or flowing to the next. Try to compile some fashion of chronological order. Hopping around will only confuse the reader and cause them to lose focus.

Touch as many of the five senses as possible

Of the five senses, I mean sight, smell, touch, taste and hearing. Obliviously, these won't all apply to each article, but through a combination of graphics, and painting pictures with words, you'll create mental images that will reinforce your call-to-action.

End with a recommendation

Recommendations can be tips, cautions or proposed solutions. Prospects are searching the Web to alleviate some pain or issue, grow their company or enhance their lives. Try to stay positive.

10 Tips On How To Profiteer Your Blog

Are you still blogging for fun? Do you still have problems blogging for cash? I have good news for you-it's time you reward your creative effort with some extra cash. Gone are the days when people blog for the fun of it, because blogging is now serious business.

Over the years blogging and blogs have become a great way of generating income on the internet. I have read about great bloggers that have made seven figures of pure profit from their blogging empire. The truth is that what they are doing to make this kind of money is what you too can do. It's not rocket science, so if you have been thinking of monetizing your blog then now is the best time to do it.

All blogs that are designed to make money must be designed to make profit. You should consider this steps if you are into out-sourcing most of the jobs on your blog. This will help you to strike that balance between your expenses and your profit and more of what you need to do to monetize your blog.
Things to do to profiteer your blog

1. Go to freelance job sites where you can get a lower bid for your work: this way you don't need to spend too much money and in the end you will break even. Try the lowest bidder, some times people can get so desperate they will bid to the last nickel and dime. Give them few things to do like article submission to blog directories if they are able to do it well then you can outsource more work to them.

2. Monetize your blog with more paid-to-click adverts: you can try Chitika, Adbrite or Bidvertizer they also pay well.

3. Trim down the work force, get in there and get your hands dirty: to make profit some times certain measures must be taken this might include trimming down the work force to a manageable size. Pick out the less stressful work and focus on getting them done.

4. Workout a free traffic method that best suite your business: you have to do this one very carefully and plan your business on it. If you prefer to go with Article marketing then stick with it don't waste all your money trying every other method out there that promise to over deliver but give you no result.

5. Get the software that will help to do your work better: if you are buying any software that promise to help improve your work make sure to do proper research on them before you go out and spend your hard earned money. Go to forums such as Warrior forum and ask questions about the software, ask to know if it can do the work you want to use it for. If you are satisfied with the answers you get then go ahead and purchase it.

6. Do away with older versions of the software you are using and get new and better upgrades.

7. Sell out some of your blog that are not doing too well so that you can concentrate on the ones that are really performing.

8. Upgrade your website or blog Template to a more robust and attractive one with more features.

9. Give out more free offers to attract more people to your list: organize contest and give away gadgets like IPod touch or iPhone and use it to get more people to sign-up to your list.

10. Conduct interview with big names in the industry and get them to comment on your blog. This will give people the feeling that you are a very important person and they can gain a lot from you when they constantly visit your blog.
